Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing
Using seaglass in jewellery is about transforming trash into treasure, its about reframing how we view the world so that we can co-create a more united and meaningful society, one based on integrity, gratitude and respect.
Oceanalla is about making a conscious decision about how we show up in the world, reducing reliance on mass produced materials, being mindful about production chains and our humanity. Its about not using lab-grown or mined gemstones, which, although beautiful, often carry environmental and ethical concerns around sourcing and production. It also means avoiding stones of uncertain or questionable provenance.
Beyond the treasures offered by the shore, all other jewellery-making supplies—including findings and chains crafted from recycled bullion—are sourced exclusively from reputable UK wholesalers certified by the National Association of Jewellers (UK).
Made with love and a conscience, every piece bypasses the broader impacts of resource-intensive production and helps reduce our environmental footprint—a small drop in the ocean compared to the humanitarian mountain we must climb to turn the tide on pollution, overproduction, mass consumption, and the erosion of self in today’s increasingly homogenised world, yet hopefully a meaningful step in the right direction nonetheless.
